About Me

Hi, I’m a published author and freelance journalist living in Manchester, England.

My debut book ‘Winner Stays On: England with The FA Cup for a Compass’ was released with Pitch Publishing in January 2024 and received coverage from BBC Radio 5 Live, TalkSPORT and Reader’s Digest. My writing often engages with the social and political aspects of sport.

Outside of sport, I enjoy exploring complex ideas by asking simple, everyday questions - Why do coffee shops play music? What makes a snooker table so aesthetically pleasing? - and conducting first-hand research to tell human stories.

Whether it’s spending twenty-four hours in the kitchen of a classic French patisserie or joining a group of eSports fanatics for a tournament in Cologne, there is nothing I love more than going out on assignment. My usual comfort zone ceases to exist as long as I’m carrying a notebook.

I’m currently working to increase my portfolio as a freelance journalist, in addition to a long term project profiling a variety of cooks, chefs and bakers for a collaborative mixed media piece entitled ‘We Cook Your Food’.
